PixMix was established in 1998 with an extensive inventory of all-new, state-of-the-art hardware. Our mission is to focus our years of creative and technical expertise into providing live event video production services of the highest quality and purpose.
In the past few years, we have consistently improved our facilities, and added the latest technology to our extensive inventory of related tools and equipment.
Ray Boyer has over 30 years of hands-on experience in video production and television broadcasting. After graduating from Rhode Island College with a BA in Theatre Arts, including a special emphasis on television production, Ray worked for 7 years at WSMW-TV, Channel 27 in Worcester, MA.
During this time he was responsible for directing a wide range of live television events, including college and professional sports, and a variety of local programming. One of his most cherished memories of his years at Channel 27 was directing a live 5-hour, 4-camera telethon featuring the 57 piece Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Ray worked for 8 years as a studio director at WSBK-TV, Channel 38, in Boston. During his tenure in Boston, Ray directed numerous television programs including: Daytime, a live morning talk show; The Movie Loft, a prime-time hosted movie wrap-around program; plus a variety of specials and public affairs programs including, Ask the Manager.
In 1995 Raymond joined the PixMix team. Since then he has been responsible for a wide range of single and multi-camera productions. With his extensive experience in live television events he has added an element of resourcefulness to every project he has contributed to. Ray has directed a large number of live and live-to-tape programs for such companies as: Raytheon, Lotus, Putnam Investments, Akamai Technologies, Fidelity Investments, and Navisite Streaming Media. One of his most significant achievements to date was directing a 5-camera live-to-tape program, which PixMix produced for The Charlie Rose Show on PBS. He became a principal of the company in 2004.

In 1972 Bob was appointed Instructor and Facility Head of the Television Dept., at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Here he developed curricula for the emerging field of video art and instructional media.
At the same time as he was teaching, he founded Video/Visuals, Inc., a successful video company providing technical production services to leading businesses and producers in New England. The company became a regional leader in large event staging, in computer display, and in video production. Highlights included: Staging over 100 large-screen video projectors for 35 venues in New England, for closed-circuit sporting events. Video/Visuals routinely provided multi-camera and other production services at businesses, conference centers, and arenas across the Northeast.
In 1998, Bob co-founded PixMix Video Services in Boston. With almost 30 years in video production services, he equipped the company with a full array of cameras and other tools for producing high quality multi-camera images, both on location and in the studio. In 2004 Bob sold his interest in PixMix but continues to be a valued advisor to the company.
Bob has also taken leadership roles within the professional sector of the trade. He served as former Boston chapter president of ITVA. In addition, Bob has taken an active role in other trade organizations, including The Mass Media Alliance, Women in Film & Video and S.M.P.T.E.
