Live Multi-Camera Switcher Packages

PixMix's Specialty is multi-camera production. Our principals have developed, over many years, a highly effective approach to providing this 'studio-on-location' production service. Rapid setup, high quality pictures and an engaging style are the basics of our multi-camera service. Component and SDI video paths from source to record, for both presentation and broadcast, result in superior picture quality. Full bandwidth composite and SDI outputs are also available for transmission or web-streaming. Our selection of equipment and approach are customized for each event, so every production has a uniquely tailored quality that will hold your audiences' attention.

Studio Green Screen

In today's fast paced digital world many video projects are shot on a green screen.

Our 28' x 28' studio space was developed to help answer the growing demand for green screen shooting in the Boston area. Measuring 24 feet wide and 12.5 feet high, with the floor extending 8.5 feet from the back wall, our green screen space is ideal for a wide variety of shoots. It can easily accommodate full head-to-toe body shots of several people on set at once. Plus the extra width of the space is perfect for shooting in a 16 x 9 aspect ratio.

To help economize on precious studio time we have 'pre-lit' the area with Selecon HUI cyc lights and Altman 18" scoops. Thus, if you choose this option, you can walk into the studio knowing that the green screen is all lit and ready to go - and all you need to do is to light your talent.

For a producer on a budget or under tight time constraints shooting on the PixMix green screen is a sure-fire way to keep your project on track.

Real Time Compositing

An additional green screen option we offer is REAL TIME COMPOSITING. Utilizing our adjacent video control room we can take any image that you provide to us (such as a JPEG or some other computer-generated or videotaped image) and we can key that image into the camera shot.

Producers' back bench allows observation of real-time compositing session.
Also note that our control room and our entire facility is handicapped-accessible.

Thus you can see what your final composite picture will look like BEFORE you shoot. And, if you request it, we can double-record your session, giving you a GREEN SCREEN master tape plus a COMPOSITE master tape.

Scan Conversion
Computer to Video Recording

PixMix owns and operates two Lyon Lamb Real Time Converters. From PowerPoint to CAD, we can record your PC or computer based presentation or software demo directly on videotape. The highest possible quality computer images can be integrated in a multi-camera production either at our facility or on-location.

One of the many features that our Lyon Lamb unit offers is the ability to "zoom in" on a computer graphic. Once we have zoomed in on a portion of the screen we can "save" that shot as a "preset". We can store up to 40 "preset" shots and then INSTANTLY recall any "preset" shot in real time. This feature is especially powerful when demonstrating the intricate nature of software products. No other scan converter on the market has this real time feature.
