On the Republican side we handled two Rudy Giuliani rallies plus a John McCain event. And on the Democratic side we were in an apple orchard (of all places) for a Barack Obama town hall meeting plus we attended a Hillary Clinton rally. Hey, Republicans or Democrats... they're all equal in the viewfinders of the PixMix cameras. Besides our New Hampshire work, C-SPAN also called out jobs at Brown University in Providence plus several events in and around Boston at such historic places as Faneuil Hall, the John F. Kennedy Library and the Kennedy School of Government. Near or far ... it doesn't matter to PixMix. When the call comes ... we answer. Repeat customers, and events, are the staple of any successful video production company. For PixMix the list of repeat events continues to grow. For Productive Media and producer Geoff Briggs we handled two multi-camera events for a well know Boston financial institution. This is the fifth (or is it sixth?) year that PixMix has shot this event for PMI. And for Sullivan Video Services we covered for the sixth (or is it seventh?) straight year the Novell annual corporate meeting. Now toss in multi-camera events for Textron in Providence and Sensata in Attleboro, again for repeat customer Perspective Communications. Then add in several multi-camera shows for long time customer Raytheon. And finally plug in a 3-camera event documenting upcoming changes to the National Electrical Code for repeat customer Creative Media and producer Marc Neger. With all this happening itıs easy to see why business has been booming at PixMix. On the studio front we have seen a slow but steadily increasing workload. We thought Green Screen work would dominate but itıs been split pretty evenly. From September to December we shot 4 "traditional" single camera studio projects and 4 green screen gigs. I hope you had time for a holiday break and during the coming year I hope you'll keep PixMix in mind if you need anything in the Boston / New England area. Thanks in Advance The traditional warm summer months were certainly a busy time for PixMix Video this year. In the four-month period of May 1 to August 31 we were constantly on the go... meeting the demands of a growing client list. And what were our clients demanding? Well both Boston based Fidelity Images and New Jersey based StoneHouse Media were demanding multi-camera projects shot in a 16 x 9 format. Naturally PixMix delivered . . . in 16 x 9 of course. As much as we like shooting in 16 x 9, the vast majority of our work still demands traditional 4 x 3 video. For many recurring clients this format works just fine. Another repeat customer is NASDAQ and producer Ron Baron. Last year we handled a 5-camera event for him at Staples Headquarters in Framingham Mass. These are just some of the highlights of a very busy summer. But the work doesn¹t stop there. For Perspective Communications we handled two multi-camera shows delivered around the world via satellite for corporate customer Sensata Technologies. Now toss in a host of live fiber feed shots for Democracy Now, Bloomberg News, PBS station KCTS in Seattle, ESPN, CNBC and Middle East news channel Al Jazeera. Then mix in studio shoots for Niki Tsongas for Congress, Tangram 3DS from New Hampshire, ON-24 from San Francisco, AMS Productions from Dallas and Osprey Communications from Greenwich, Connecticut. Now what do you have? You have PixMix Video Services. One Hot Company during a rather Hot Summer. Hope you¹ve been as busy as we have. And I hope you¹ll keep us in mind if you ever need anything here in the Boston / New England area. Thanks in Advance May 2007 The first four months of 2007 have been an incredibly busy time for PixMix Video. So busy in fact that this update, originally scheduled for late March, is more than 6 weeks late. Hey, when you're working hard keeping the customers happy, certain tasks have to be put on the back burner. For PixMix the really big news is the move into our new home. We're now located at 23 Elm Street, Building #2 in Watertown, MA. Our new phone number is 617-923-0102. Our first official day in the new space was Tuesday, January 2. On Thursday, January 4, Verizon completed our fiber install at noontime. The carpets were done at 2 PM. And at 4:30 we were on the air with a live shot to CNBC. Talk about hitting the ground running. And it really has not stopped. From the first of the year until the end of April we handled a total of 24 'live shots' for a host of networks including Bloomberg, CBC, ESPN, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. But the most interesting feed had to be on the night of Tuesday, April 10th. Since we do this kind of stuff all the time, this job was a no-brainer. But what they did not tell us was that at 9 PM our tape play out would be feeding the entire PBS national network. We hit the air right on time and the job came off without a hitch. Yet it was quite a thrill (and a source of pride) for us to know that for one bright and shining hour the new PixMix control room was the hub of the entire PBS network. During the 4 months from January to April, PixMix handled a total of 17 "flypack jobs" for a variety of clients. Among the list were Textron Corporation (2 jobs), Fidelity Investments, Sensata Corporation (2 jobs) plus an amazing 9 broadcasts for C-SPAN. Well before you know it, PixMix was in the thick of it. Not only were we asked to supply our signature flypack hardware, we were also tasked with providing all the audio, lighting and video projection support for this live hotel event with an audience of 1000. The show was shot in 16 x 9 format utilizing 4 VTR's, 3 cameras, 2 video switchers and closed captioning super imposed across the top of two 9 x12 video screens. PixMix received rave reviews from both the audience in the room, the talent on the stage and the customer behind the curtain. On the studio front, our new 28' x 28' stage is now fully operational. We christened the space with our first project on Monday, March 26. This was a modest series of single camera interviews for ON 24, a web streaming company. Since then we've had several single camera green screen and white screen shoots. That's a picture of the Democracy Now studio set up at the top of the page. I hope business has been as good for you as it has for us. And I hope you'll keep PixMix in mind if you ever need anything in the Boston / New England area. Thanks in Advance September - December 2006 The months of September to December were certainly busy times for PixMix. From September 10 to December 19 we handled 20 different flypack projects for a variety of clients. That is an outstanding amount of work for us. Why, there have been YEARS when we have not provided 20 flypacks in 12 months. And here we are in the last quarter of 2006 producing 20 events in only 12 weeks. Amazing! Just to keep ourselves honest - here is the list: Toss in several camera crews covering election night events for C-SPAN . . . multiple directing assignments for Fidelity Investments, Bank of America and Raytheon Corporation . . . plus a host of live shots for customers like Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and CNBC . . . well you can see that PixMix was really on the move towards the end of 2006. And speaking of being on the move. . . on December 26 (the day after Christmas) we began the BIG MOVE . . . as we vacated our Western Avenue address and set up shop in Watertown. Our new offices are at 23 Elm Street, in Building #2. New phone number is 617-923-0102. We are just about 1 mile from our old location . . . but our new studios are MILES ahead of the old place in terms of space, comfort, amenities, equipment and features. So give us about a month to settle in and PixMix will be ready to welcome the New Year with open arms. Hope you¹ve been busy as well . . . and if you ever need anything in the Boston / New England area I hope you¹ll keep PixMix in mind. Thanks In Advance Summer 2006 The summer months of June, July and August can traditionally be slow times in the video business. Our latest 3 month period, while not as crazy as April and May, was nice and steady. In this business it never seems to fail. Two big jobs ... and they are both scheduled for the same day. Well that¹s exactly what July 20th was like for PixMix. Event number 1 was a fairly large shoot on Cape Cod. Project Manager / DP Geoff Briggs and a 2 camera crew of 5 spend the entire day on a beach in Mashpee shooting wrap arounds for the PBS show Money Talk. While it might sound ideal Geoff reports the crew was tired and windblown by the time everyone called it a wrap. At exactly the same time event number 2 was taking place. Ray Boyer and a crew of 13 were involved with a two city, two-way satellite event linking Boston and Tucson Arizona. On July 20, Cross Country needed to link their Medford Mass. and Tucson customer service sites together for a major presentation to potential new customer Nissan Automobiles. For this event PixMix provided the complete technical infrastructure including two satellite trucks, two sets of crews, and full production facilities at each location. The event came off without a hitch. We¹re still waiting to hear if Nissan was impressed enough to sign on the dotted line. Another large event, this time in August, involved our 3-camera flypack. We were on the campus of Lesley College for an all day webcast examining the No Child Left Behind nationwide legislation. Governor Romney testified at this event along with other leading national education figures. PixMix provided a complete multi-camera video system, including all labor, for local producer John Sullivan of Sullivan Video. Toss in studio jobs for Thunder Sky Pictures and Video Visuals, 2 days of 2-camera iso-recording for our good customer Raytheon, plus live shots and tape feeds for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS, Bloomberg, ABC News and CNN and you can see that the last three months have certainly been rather productive. Hope you¹ve been busy as well - and if you ever need anything up in the Boston / New England area I hope you¹ll keep PixMix in mind. Thanks in Advance April 2006 April 2006 was an outstanding month of work for PixMix, our best month ever... Well, May was even busier, outpacing April by a whopping 30%. In fact we've been so busy that we finally had to break down and hire a lawn service for home. There just wasn't time to get around to mowing the lawn. Darn! On May 18 & 19 our flypack was in Attleboro, MA servicing new customer Sensata Technologies spin off from Texas Instruments. This was the first of what is scheduled to be an ongoing series of quarterly "All Hands" meetings. This initial effort was transmitted throughout their beautiful new campus facility, while future meetings are scheduled to be delivered around the world via satellite and the web. But the really BIG JOB of the month was reserved for May 23 & 24. Sprinkle in Live Fiber Feed shots for The Charlie Rose Show, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and RAI (Italian TV), plus several directing assignments for our good customer Raytheon and you can see that May was just staggering. If business keeps growing (and we hope it does) we just may be tempted to keep that lawn service on into the fall. After all, who likes to rake leaves anyway? Thanks and if there is anything we can do for you here in the Boston area I hope you'll keep us in mind. Ray Boyer March - April 2006 March 21st marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. And for PixMix it marked the beginning of an intensive month of activity. Four flypacks in four weeks is just the ticket to break out of the winter doldrums. Ray Boyer and PixMix Video coordinated the entire video production, transmission and web-streaming component of this event for Kronos. The live program went off without a hitch and received rave reviews by all parties. Sprinkle in a 2-camera medical studio shoot for Stone Road Productions from Chicago, a single camera shoot for C-SPAN featuring Senator Hillary Clinton at Brown University, several live shots for Canadian Broadcasting, MSNBC and NBC, plus a couple of directing assignments for Fidelity Images and Raytheon and you can see it was a pretty busy month. Now that April is over we¹re looking forward to the month of May and another big job that we have waiting in the wings. And with the way things are going right now, I¹m not sure that we¹re going to have time to cut the grass. Maybe we¹ll have to break down and hire that lawn service we¹ve been thinking about. Thanks in Advance, and I hope you¹ll keep PixMix in mind if you need anything here in the New England area in the coming months. Ray Boyer January-March 2006 As you know winters in New England can sometimes be a bit trying. The cold and the snow. The short hours of sunlight and the even longer hours of darkness. For some people it can be kind of depressing. Yet it¹s hard to be depressed (or cold) when you¹re on the go and keeping busy. And the first 10 weeks of 2006 have been busy ones for PixMix. Fly-packs, Fly-packs and yet more Fly-packs. Seems like our good customer Raytheon is always asking for Fly-packs. Oh, and lets not forget the annual Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Information Systems (IS) annual awards banquet at the Wyndham Hotel in Andover. 2006 marks the third year we¹ve covered this very high-profile event for Raytheon. This was another 2-camera show, which was well received by the client (and the audience). But fly-packs are not all we do. Directing live television shows is one of the specialties of Ray Boyer. Since early January Raymond has directed live multi-camera shows for Bank of America, Raytheon, and Fidelity Investments. And also for Fidelity Ray was responsible as Engineer in Charge for their 5-camera Annual Corporate Meeting. Hey . . . just wait till the spring and we get to take our coats off! Hope you¹ll keep us in mind if you need anything here in the Boston area. Thanks in Advance December 2005 The last two months of 2005 were certainly busy ones for PixMix and our flypack system. I thought you might be interested in what we've been up to... Early November saw the PixMix flypack on the road twice (November 2nd and 9th) at the Wharf Room of the Boston Harbor Hotel. We were there with a two-camera system to service the needs of a well known Boston based mutual fund company. This is the fourth year that PixMix has supported this firm during their yearly series of annual meetings with company investors. Filling out the month of December was a fairly big job for the National Fire Prevention Association and producer Marc Neger. On the 16th and 17th we were in the training room of the Natick Massachusetts Fire Department for a series of lectures with a live audience. PixMix provided a 3-camera flypack and 4 VTR's for this all day event. Ray Boyer directed this show and he was quite amazed that the fire siren did not go off once during the entire day. It must have been the "slow day" for the firemen. In fact December was so busy that we hardly had time to do our holiday shopping. And speaking about holiday shopping what would Christmas be without a trip to Santa's Village in Jefferson New Hampshire. Well . . . we were a bit early for Christmas . . . December 1st to be exact . . . but we were there. The Kotchen Group from Hartford Connecticut hired PixMix to provide a two-camera flypack system for a Satellite Media Tour from Santa's workshop. This live 4-hour event was beamed all over the country for morning news/talk shows from Portland, Maine to Phoenix, Arizona. PixMix provided full technical support including audio, video, lighting, crew services and satellite uplink truck. Well . . . we finally did get our shopping done. But it was a close call. Hope you got YOUR shopping done and had a GREAT Holiday Season. And I hope you'll keep us in mind for any upcoming projects you may have in the New Year. After a week off between Christmas and New Year we're rested, relaxed and ready to go. Thanks in Advance September - December 2005 October was certainly the month of the double whammy. No that¹s not a new Halloween creature. It¹s getting hit with two jobs on the same day ... not once but several days in a row. After the 90 minute morning broadcast from Op.Rooms 4 and 5, we had to vacate Room 4 and move down the hall to Operating Room 2 for the afternoon broadcast. We pulled it off without a hitch. Oh, and just for the record, all the patients are doing just fine. But we didn¹t have much time to relax. As soon as the medical shows were completed, we had to race to Raytheon Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, Mass. to set up for another live event scheduled for the next day. On Thursday, October 20, PixMix provided a 2-camera flypack system for a 2 hour live video teleconference of the Raytheon Leadership Development Program. This event went to 10 downlink sites. Ray Boyer directed and Don Godbout was the Engineer in Charge. Just about the time the Textron broadcast in Providence was ending ... the new sign at State Street in Boston was about to be illuminated. And as Boston Mayor Thomas Menino was throwing the switch the man standing beside him was a guy called "Double Whammy". Hope you¹ll keep us in mind if you need anything up here in the Boston area. I¹m sure we can handle it - even if it involves the infamous Double Whammy. Thanks in Advance July/August 2005 Hope you've been busy lately. As you know the summer months of July and August are traditionally a slow time in the video business. Time to kick back, relax, and go to the beach. With the end of summer fast approaching we plan to catch a little more sunshine and a lot more sleep. We need to rest up for September. We already have two decent sized jobs booked. And it¹s only the middle of August. Hope you¹ll keep us in mind if you need anything up here in the New England area in the coming months. Thanks in Advance June 2005 Hope the recent extreme heat has not been too bad where you are. It's been hot here in Boston, especially on the work front. The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy (and hot). One Tuesday, June 14 we handled a 3-camera live webcast for GE HealthCare and Drug Discovery magazine from our Western Ave. studios. PixMix provided full production support for this event including crew, hardware, studio and transmission services. Summer is here so lets hope the heat continues. Its Good for Business. And speaking of business I hope you'll keep us in mind if you need anything in the Boston area. Thanks in Advance Entire Website (c) 2002-2008 PixMix Video Services. All Rights Reserved.
PixMix Booms as Primaries Loom
The last four months of '07 were certainly boom times for PixMix Video Services. This was due in no small part to the ongoing New Hampshire Presidential Primary campaign and our good customer C-SPAN. When the call comes in to travel up north to cover a political event, PixMix is there at a momentıs notice.
Also we canıt forget another good customer, Fidelity Investments. During the quarter we provided hardware and crew to cover four multi-camera events. Two of these shows were shot in a 16 x 9 format with live audiences of about 500.
But the really BIG studio job was reserved for the end of the year. Thatıs when producer Steve Melzer and his VidBoston crew booked our facility for a massive 8-day project. They turned our studio in a doctorıs office as they shot a long series of medical modules featuring Dr. Ben Benjamin. This project ended on the Thursday before Christmas . . . just in time for everyone to take a bit of time off for a well-deserved holiday break.

For Fidelity Images it was a high profile 3-camera program originated at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua New Hampshire. This was a live event with an audience of about 600. The wide screen image was projected onto two huge 16 x 9 screens in the ballroom. At the same time we were also transmitting 16 x 9 images live via satellite to several downlink locations on the East Coast. The show got rave reviews and there are tentative plans for another show, this time in New Jersey, sometime in the fall.
And speaking of New Jersey, Stonehouse Media, based in Lambertville, had altogether different requirements when the call went out to PixMix. They were documenting a program called "Analytic Thinking" at the Connecticut Fire Training Academy in Windsor Locks. This was a "live to tape" event involving 4 cameras shooting in 16 x 9, and 5 tape machines recording EVERYTHING for later editing. PixMix provided the entire technical requirements for this event including lighting, sound, all video hardware plus an operating crew of 9 people.
Take Image Productions located in Worcester Mass. for instance.
Last year PixMix provided them with a 3-camera fly-pack system for the graduation ceremonies at Harvard Medical School. Well they liked us so much that this year they had us cover TWO graduations . . . and naturally they were on the same day. Besides Harvard Medical School, PixMix also provided a 3-camera system for the Harvard School of Public Health. Talk about being busy . . . 6 cameras, 2 switchers and all the gear that goes with it. Boy were we tired at the end of that day!
This year it was a more modest 2-camera program but much further from our base of operations. Greenwich, Connecticut is the home of Interactive Brokers, a company celebrating 30 years of being listed on NASDAQ. To help recognize this milestone a live satellite broadcast was originated from the trading floor of Interactive. PixMix provided its signature multi-camera flypack system along with all lighting, sound and video support gear. The show came off without a hitch and was seen on Bloomberg TV, CNBC and on the NASDAQ trading floor.
For C-Span we¹ve covered 5 separate multi-camera flypacks and 3 single camera events including two events for Presidential candidate Rudi Giuliani.
For the American Chemical Society and Bloomberg News we provided 2-man single-camera crews to document a trade show and to shoot interviews for an upcoming TV special on leveraged buyouts.

We received a call about 6:45 PM from Frontline, the nationally recognized PBS program that is created and edited here in Boston at WGBH-TV, Channel 2. They wanted to know if we could handle a tape playout for them that evening at 9 PM... and "Oh, by the way, Can we also book the transmission time as well?"
But the really unusual fly-pack project was a 3-camera program for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). This show came from longtime PixMix customer Swank AudioVisual located in Washington DC. They called and wanted to know if we would be available to help them with a 3-camera system for the AARP. The show was scheduled to happen in 5 days, on February 10th.
Yet the really big test came on April 16 and 17. For two hours each morning (from 8 AM to 10 AM) Amy Goodman and the staff from Democracy Now hosted their nationally syndicated morning news program from our new Watertown facility. PixMix provided complete technical support including 3 cameras, 5-person operating crew and fiber connectivity to the Democracy Now control center in New York City. The show plus the overall facility and layout received an A+ rating from the Democracy Now staff.

June saw the PixMix flypack on the road for a couple of new clients. On the 7th and 8th we provided a 3-camera system to producer Darrien Lussier of Image Productions for the graduation exercise of Harvard Medical School. This two day event came off without a hitch, despite the heavy rains that seemed to plague most graduations this year.
Two weeks later we were at another new venue. Producer Mark Neger of Creative Media Productions brought our 2 camera flypack system to Milford Mass. in order to document a presentation at Waters Corporation. This was the first time Waters had experienced producing a program "in real time", going live to tape. All reports are the event was well received.

May 1st. found PixMix at the John F. Kennedy Library providing a 2-camera flypack system to C-SPAN. The topic was "The Irish Tenors" - no not music, but rather a lively discussion by surviving members of JFK's 1960 election campaign.
PixMix was in Framingham, at Staples Headquarters. We were hired by NASDAQ to provide a 5 camera, 4 VTR flypack system to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Staples chain of office superstores. PixMix worked closely with NASDAQ producer Ron Baron to bring this event to life. Besides our signature fly-pack system and manpower, we provided 5 plasma screens and coordinated the audio, lighting and staging support of other vendors. This live 30-minute show came off without a hitch and received rave reviews from senior level management at both Staples and NASDAQ.
However it was not only multi-camera events that helped tip the scales this month. May is also graduation time. When First Lady Laura Bush was delivering her keynote address to Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I., PixMix was there, documenting the event for C-SPAN. And again, thanks to C-SPAN, when Democratic rising star Senator Barack Obama was at UMass-Boston for his keynote address we were there. Republicans, Democrats - they're all equal in the viewfinder of the PixMix camera.

For our good customer Raytheon we supplied our two-camera system for an "All Hands" meeting in Portsmouth RI on Monday, March 20. Technically that¹s one day BEFORE the first day of spring but who¹s counting.
Thursday April 6th saw the PixMix flypack in Waltham, Mass. covering the Annual Corporate Meeting for software company Novell. This is the fifth consecutive year that we¹ve handled this job for Novell and local production company Sullivan Associates.
On Friday April 21 we were once again on the 18th floor of the Textron World Headquarters in Providence RI for another live satellite broadcast for the Textron Financial Network Town Hall Meeting. This was the 7th quarterly broadcast in a row that PixMix has handled for Textron and production company Perspective Communication.
But the big job of the month was 10 days earlier. On April 10th and 11th PixMix produced a major event at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium for new customer Kronos Corporation. This was a live multi-camera broadcast featuring three chief executives of the company talking to an audience of about 1500 Kronos employees. To tie the entire company together PixMix used a satellite truck to transmit the signal to California. The event was downlinked and encoded for web streaming by ON 24 and then sent to more than 60 locations in Canada, Mexico and the United States. We estimate another 750 to 1200 people viewed the live webcast.

Mid-January saw us providing a 3-camera system for 3 days to cover the rollout of a new demo room in the Raytheon Tewksbury facility. In early March we used 2 cameras to cover yet another meeting of the Leadership Development Forum at Corporate Headquarters in Waltham Woods. This was the fifth time PixMix has handled this meeting.
Now just to prove to you that Raytheon isn't the only customer for our fly-pack system, check this out. On February 8th we were on the 18th floor of Textron Corporation World Headquarters in Providence, RI for a 2-camera live telecast. This was the sixth time we¹ve provided the hardware for this broadcast to 25 down link sites of the Textron Financial Network. Textron has already booked us for 3 more events during 2006.
Throw in two projects for Wyeth Pharmaceutical (one with new customer Osprey Communications) plus a bunch of live shots for CNN, CNBC, ABC and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS and you can see that the cold weather has certainly not slowed PixMix down.

Long-time customer Raytheon called on our services twice during the month of December. On the 7th and 8th we were in Portsmouth, RI directing a 4 camera "all hands" meeting that was fed throughout the three building campus. And on December 19th the PixMix flypack was at the Raytheon facility in Andover Mass. for a 2-camera broadcast of the IDS IT awards show. This event was broadcast throughout the huge Andover building and was also webcast to several Raytheon sites around the country. Ray Boyer was the video director for both of these events.

The week of October 17 - 21 started it all off. On Monday and Tuesday we were in Portsmouth RI, directing, crewing and providing hardware for a 4 camera Town Hall meeting program featuring Bill Swanson, the CEO of Raytheon Corporation. This program was done by 11:30 and by 2:30 we were in Boston, setting up for our next event at Mass. General Hospital...
Wednesday the 19th saw the PixMix flypack and crew broadcasting a series of live heart operations to the TCT Medical conference being held in Washington D.C. Producer Andy Straub of Blueyed Productions hired us to cover 5 separate operations from 3 different operating rooms for 2 live broadcast segments.
Tuesday, October 25, was another BIG double whammy. First off we were in the lobby of the new State Street Corporation building providing full production support for their gala State Street Sign Lighting Party. Besides providing 2 cameras (one over 1/4 mile away on the roof of a building shooting the "money shot" of the sign being lit up for the first time), PixMix provided 3 projectors, full audio support and full production coordination for this very high-profile event. Bob Lewis was the PixMix project manger for this show.
And where, you might ask, was Ray Boyer while all this was happening? He was in Providence, RI with our second flypack system. Up on the 18th floor at the Textron Corporation headquarters .... providing a 2-camera package for a quarterly broadcast to the Textron Financial Services network. This live 90-minute satellite event was distributed to over 25 locations around the country.

Well the last week of July was anything but relaxing for PixMix. On July 25, 26 and 27 we supplied a two camera flypack system to Blueyed Productions for videotaping a series of open heart surgery operations at Mass. General Hospital. This job was supervised by PixMix Engineer in Charge Bill Litchman.
On Tuesday July 26, while all this was happening, PixMix was supplying our second two-camera system to Prospective Communications. We were in Providence RI on the 18th floor of the Textron building broadcasting a quarterly financial town hall meeting to 25 downlink sites on the Textron Financial Services network. This project was directed and project managed by Ray Boyer.
Friday capped off the week, and the month, with a 3 camera show for Charlie Rose videotaped at Cotting Hall on the campus of Harvard Business School. Charlie interviewed Kim Clark, the retiring Dean of HBS. The taping ended at 4:45 and at 5:00 PM we were feeding the tape from our fiber facility to New York City for final editing. The program aired that evening on PBS stations nationwide.
And what would summer be without a trip to the beach! For PixMix our road trip involved a 375 mile jaunt to the town of Wildwood at the very southern tip of New Jersey. On Saturday, August 6th, we were at the Wildwood Convention Center for a 3 camera event covering the action of the North American Grappling Association. This full contact boxing event will be seen at a future date on In Demand Pay Per View.

On Saturday, July 11, PixMix provided an 8 man crew, including two ENG rigs to the Q Network out of Dallas Texas as they covered the annual Boston Pride Day ... Gay and Lesbian parade.
The very next day, June 15 our 3 camera flypack was working in the operating rooms of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. This 5-hour live broadcast involved open heart surgery from two operating rooms. It was viewed by an audience of about 300 in the ballroom of the nearby Westin Hotel.
And the week of June 20 to 24 was, for all intents and purposes Raytheon Week. On Monday PixMix supplied a two-camera system to document a training program at Raytheon Corporate Headquarters in Waltham Mass. On Tuesday and Wednesday we provided a two-camera system for a live campus wide broadcast at Raytheon's Portsmouth, RI facility. And on Thursday we were working on another two-camera live webcast, this time from the Raytheon Andover Mass. manufacturing plant.
